Hello, pleased to meet you. My name is Alex Speed, and Futons is the name I make music under. I post a wide array of things, including anime, art, architecture, fashion, Japanese culture, manga, music, movies, and photography. This is only a bit of what I like. I hope you enjoy your stay.

So I finally finished watching Kimagure Orange Road.

I…I’m actually swimming in my feelings and lost for words. I rarely think this way about any sort of movie or show, but this one is practically flawless. It has a great soundtrack (so much so, that a ridiculous amount of albums were released for it), fantastic art and animation, and an extremely relate-able storyline and characters. Pretty much, if you’ve been a teenager (ever), you’ll enjoy this show, and relate to parts of it.

The element of the Kasuga family having esper powers adds to the story as well. They’re not always used to drive the story, but more for gags by the two sisters. Sure, on the outside it looks like a common love story, but when it all boils down, everyone can relate to that, right? I definitely know I can. The relationships are complex, making for an interesting story, but driven in the right way to keep you wanting more.

Commonly I’m asked by my friends what I like, what interests me, what drives me; this show is definitely something that does. I think it’s safe to say that watching this show is a life-changing experience, and will put you in a great mood from start to finish.
